"Improve Our Tulsa" Campaign Aims Focus on City Streets

City officials and community leaders rallied voters for their "Improve Our Tulsa" campaign which kicked-off Tuesday morning.

City officials ranging from Mayor Dewey Bartlett to City Councilor G.T. Bynum went before voters at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. At the event the officials kicked-off their education campaign for the $918 million comprehensive infrastructure improvement package.

According to previous reports, the package will extend the 1.1 percent of the city's current 1.167 percent sales tax. This will in turn raise $563.7 million for street projects and capital improvements.

The package will be up for vote on November 12. At the event this morning speakers highlighted the plan's benefits and unveil elements of the campaign.

City leaders highlighted that Tulsa roads are among the largest beneficiary of the package. Bridge projects and park upgrades are among the other planned improvements.

Tuesday's event will begin at 10 a.m. over at the Tulsa Regional Chamber's Spirit AeroSystem's Room.
