82 World War II veterans boarded a this morning for another Honor Flight.   This marks the 14th flight that has offered the honor to 1300 Oklahoma veterans.

The patriot guard riders escorted 3 buses full of World War II veterans o the airport. That was just the start and overwhelming for the men and women, who were not sure what to expect.

Barbara Bucchaneri served in the Pentagon, during the war.  Today she arrived with her grand-daughter.

The average age of these veterans is 86. There were 16 million WWII vets,  but more than 600-die everyday. Even today, one person ccanceledbecause of illness.

They survived the war and they are thankful to see this day and the honor going to see the World War II memorial.

"I had no idea there was that kind of honor for those of us that just had to be part of World War II. And it's an amazing thing to be honored. And it's an amazing thing to be escorted to the airport. I'm sort of overwhelmed I think," said Bucchaneri.

The honor flights are possible because of donations. And it means so much, that 200 oklahoma veterans are on a waiting list

The Honor Flight is made possible through numerous sponsors and volunteers.  The group returns on Wednesday night, to a homecoming celebration at the Tulsa International Airport.
