Posted: Updated:
One man was shot during a dispute at a northeast Tulsa apartment complex.

According to Tulsa Police, officers were called out to a shots fired call at McKinley Apartments near Sheridan and Pine around 3:45 p.m.

The incident took place after two men were in some sort of a dispute over a necklace, according to police.

21-year-old Charles Johnson was shot once in the chest and transported to a Tulsa hospital by friends. Johnson later died at the hospital.

In a TPD news release, investigators learned that 42-year-old Randle Lockett was the suspected shooter. Homicide detectives and the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crime Task Force made contact with Lockett over the phone.

Around 9 p.m., Lockett called detectives and surrendered. Lockett was booked into Tulsa County Jail and is being held for first degree murder.

Further investigation showed that another male described as 40-years-old with dreadlocks was driven to McKinley Apartments with Locket by a female. Investigators interviewed and released the female driver, however police are still searching for the other man in the vehicle.

Anyone with information on the witness that is still outstanding is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918 596 2677.
