Suspect Arrested for Saturday Afternoon Shooting Death
Tulsa, Oklahoma -
One man was shot during a dispute at a northeast Tulsa apartment complex.
According to Tulsa Police, officers were called out to a shots fired call at McKinley Apartments near Sheridan and Pine around 3:45 p.m.
The incident took place after two men were in some sort of a dispute over a necklace, according to police.
21-year-old Charles Johnson was shot once in the chest and transported to a Tulsa hospital by friends. Johnson later died at the hospital.
In a TPD news release, investigators learned that 42-year-old Randle Lockett was the suspected shooter. Homicide detectives and the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crime Task Force made contact with Lockett over the phone.
Around 9 p.m., Lockett called detectives and surrendered. Lockett was booked into Tulsa County Jail and is being held for first degree murder.
Further investigation showed that another male described as 40-years-old with dreadlocks was driven to McKinley Apartments with Locket by a female. Investigators interviewed and released the female driver, however police are still searching for the other man in the vehicle.
