Authorities have identified those involved in a fatal trooper-involved shooting over the weekend in west Tulsa.

A spokesperson for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KTUL that the incident took place around 9 p.m. Saturday when Trooper Bobby Raines attempted to make a traffic stop on 33-year-old Tel Levi Rogers.

During the stop Rogers exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Raines proceeded to catch up with him until both became engaged physically on the ground.

Officials stated that during the fight Rogers allegedly grabbed Raines' gun. At some point Raines fired two rounds on the Rogers who was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information was available about the incident. Raines has been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation.
