Soldier From Edmond Dies From Injuries

A soldier from Edmond has been killed from injuries he received from serving in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced today that Spc. James Wickliff-Chacin, 22, was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device, or IED.

He was hit August 12th and was taken to a hospital in San Antonio, TX.

He passed away September 20th.

He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Stewart, GA.
