Neighbors Help Man Shot In Street

Posted: Updated:

A man gets help from neighbors after he's shot in the middle of a north Tulsa street.

It happened Monday evening just before 9:00pm near 4900 N. Boulder Avenue.

Police said the victim told them he was walking down the street when he was shot. The bullets hit his chest and arms. Neighbors heard the gunfire and ran out to help the man before medics arrive.

Tulsa police Captain Jack Ritter said people were standing around the man, some doing "advanced basic first aid."

Neither the victim nor the neighbors could give a good description of the suspects. It's unclear if the shooter, or shooters, were in a car or also walking down the street.

The victim was able to talk with police as medics loaded him into a waiting ambulance. At last check, he was headed for surgery and his condition wasn't available.

Call Crimestoppers at 918-596-COPS if you have information about this case. Tips can be made anonymously and any information that leads to an arrest is eligible for cash reward.
