Driver Smashes Power Pole With Car, Leaves Scene

Posted: Updated:

A driver runs away after tearing down an electrical pole with his car.

Tulsa Police found quite a mess late Wednesday near Independence and north Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

EMSA paramedics were patrolling the area, police said, and told investigators they heard a loud boom.

Police eventually found the source of the noise: a car hit and snapped a PSO electric pole in half.

Officers said the driver left the scene on foot.

The crash interrupted electric service for a short period of time at a nearby apartment complex.
