Tulsa Physician Arrested by FBI on Child Porn Accusation

Federal prosecutors placed a Tulsa man into custody this week on charges of producing child pornography.

Officials with the FBI arrested Shelby Coleman over the weekend at a Springfield hotel. He was charged in a federal court Tuesday with using a minor to produce child pornography.

According to a release from the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Coleman is a medical doctor and partner at the Tulsa Women's Health Center.

Court documents stated that Coleman communicated with a 16-year-old minor in Laclede County, Missouri via cell phone texts. Coleman and the boy allegedly sent one another sexually explicit text messages and images.

Coleman allegedly sent the minor a sexually explicit video of himself. "During some of the chats with [the boy], Coleman allegedly stated that he wanted to drive around in his Porsche 911 with [the boy] naked."

Officials stated that on Coleman texted the boy last week and made arrangements to meet for sex at a Springfield hotel. Coleman arrived at the hotel in his Porsche and texted instructions for the boy to come to his hotel room.

Law enforcement officers confronted Coleman in his hotel room placed him in custody after initially questioning him.

According to the release, the case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Kelleher. Authorities with the FBI, the Joplin Police Department, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation.
