Wagoner County authorities are investigating a fatal wreck east of Broken Arrow.
The crash is on 71st Street where the road dead ends into the Verdigris River.
The Wagoner County Sheriff’s office received a call about a vehicle flipping over.
When authorities arrived on the scene, 43-year-old Anthony Drahos was pronounced dead at the scene. His 12-year-old son was transported to a Tulsa hospital in a medical helicopter.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol release, Drahos was driving westbound on 71st street when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the roadway and flipped. Drahos was partially ejected from the car.
The original call to the sheriff's office said the driver had been shot. Deputies later confirmed there were no gunshot wounds and the man's death appeared to be a result of the wreck.
According to the OHP report, alcohol and unsafe speeds on a curve might have been the cause of the accident. OHP is still investigating.
