Portion of Main Street in Broken Arrow to Close for Weekend

Posted: Updated:

Another portion of Broken Arrow's Main Street will be closed this weekend for continued construction.

Beginning early Saturday morning and lasting through Oct. 14, Main Street will be closed between Broadway and College streets. This is a part of the continued Downtown Streetscape Project.

According to a report from the Broken Arrow Ledger, the streets will be closed for installation of underground electrical utilities and irrigation piping.

Residents will also see the west side of the Main and College streets intersection closed due to proximity to construction equipment. All other street crossings on Main Street will be open.

The Rose District is undergoing a $4 million makeover to provide a pedestrian-friendly space to better accommodate events with fewer traffic lanes, wider sidewalks, mid-block crossing and comprehensive landscaping.
