Hemorrhoids and toenail fungus are viewed more favorably than the United States Congress, according to a new poll released today.
The government shutdown and battle over the debt ceiling are taking a toll on the public image of the legislative body.
The poll of 502 registered voters was released Tuesday by Public Policy Polling.
Congress had a dismal 8 percent approval rating.
“Congress having an 8% approval rating tells us one thing about how unhappy voters are,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But it’s even more telling that voters have a lower opinion of it than annoyances like the DMV and jury duty, health issues like hemorrhoids, and even witches.”
