Tulsa Police arrested two men after five people were injured during a shooting at an event center, Saturday night.

The shooting occurred just after 8 p.m. on 31st St.  east of Garnett where officers say a few hundred people were inside the Green Country Event Center when a shooter walked in and started firing a .40-caliber handgun.

Two people were hit in the torso and three others were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Tulsa Police took two men into custody.

19-year-old Meng Lee and 21-year-old Boonmlee Lee were arrested after TPD helicopter observed a suspicious vehicle near the event center. According to the booking report, a firearm was located near where the vehicle was stopped.

The passenger of the vehicle was wearing only his boxer shorts when arrested. According to a police report, a black hoodie and the firearm had been thrown from the vehicle.

Nhia Vang, 75, was sitting at a table when the shots rang out. "The bullet went through my shirt, but not by body," Vang says. "My body is still good."

His son, Thai, was at work when he got a phone call every family member dreads. "I was scared, frightened; I had no time to tell my managers, I just rushed my way here," Thai says. "I walked into the scene, I see blood everywhere, I saw my dad and I just prayed to God hopefully he's fine," Thai says.

He says he was relieved and thankful when he saw the bullet only grazed his father.

Others say they thought the gunshots were firecrackers at first.

Long Xiong was at the party and says, "I ducked down, waiting until everything was clear and I got up and I'm just walking out here."

Xiong says it happened so quickly that no one saw the shooter.  He says there were children running around who could have easily been hit.

Both Meng and Boonmlee are being held for felony complaints of shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with intent to commit a felony.
