A man is behind bars Monday morning after threatening to blow up his home. The incident started Sunday shortly after 8 p.m. near 4800 South Nogales.
37-year-old Michael Goins called his girlfriend and told her his house was filled with gas and that he planned to blow it up. The girlfriend then told police who arrived at the home.
Neighbors were evacuated for a short time. Tulsa Fire and Hazmat helped to diffuse the situation by turning off the gas, which they said was on for 45 to 50 minutes.
Goins left his house to look around outside and that is when police were able to take him down and arrest him. TPD charged him with manufacturing an explosive. TFD ventilated the house and the area was safe.
Evangelist Franklin Graham prayed on a sidewalk outside the Pentagon Thursday after his invitation to a prayer service inside was withdrawn because of comments that insulted people of other religions. More>>
