Two Arrested for Shooting at Event Center Due in Court Next Week

Posted: Updated:

Two men are due in court next week after reportedly injuring five people during a shooting at an event center.

Tulsa Police placed Meng Lee and Boonmlee Lee in custody over the weekend. Both are accused of wounding five people during a shooting at the Green Country Event Center.

According to previous reports, two people were hit in the torso and three others were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Both suspects were arrested after a TPD helicopter observed a suspicious vehicle near the event center.

Tulsa police say the alleged shooters and the victims were all Hmong and that there was "probably a relationship" between the men in custody and the victims. The men are accused of injuring five Hmong who were attending a traditional New Year's festival Saturday night.

Hmong are an Asian ethnic group hailing from countries including Laos, China, Vietnam and Thailand.

Meng and Boonmlee are being held for felony complaints of shooting with intent to kill, possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with intent to commit a felony. Both are due in court Oct. 21.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
