2 Teens Arrested After Shooting Near Muskogee School

Muskogee Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon that wounded an 18-year-old and prompted a lockdown at a nearby school.

Detectives stated the incident took place just before 11 a.m. near North 7th and Market Street. It was there that officers found the young victim with two gunshot wounds.

"One wound was to the left near the calf muscle. The other was to the back," the statement from Muskogee Police went on to describe. The male victim is expected to recover.

Tevin Adams, 19, and Richard Johnson, 19, were arrested by police later Tuesday.  11-23-93, Muskogee resident.

Police say Adams and Johnson got in a fight with the victim who was walking down the road and fired shots from the car.

Adams was arrested on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill.

Johnson was arrested on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

A spokesperson with Muskogee Public Schools added that the Early Childhood Center was placed on temporary lockdown during the incident due to the proximity of the incident to the school.
