Tulsa Man Wanted in Connection to Motel Murder

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa police are searching for another man in connection to the murder at an east Tulsa motel earlier this week.

Homicide detectives and agents with the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force are searching for 18-year-old William Rush, also known as "Cinco."

Tulsa Police responded Sunday evening to the Tonight Inn in reference to a fatal shooting. It was there that officials pronounced Tirus Johnson dead from a fatal gunshot wound.

A Crime Stoppers tip led investigators to Keelan Smallwood who was arrested earlier this week.

According to a news release, investigators located a residence near the Tonight Inn that was associated with the murder. Detectives recovered a handgun after maintaining surveillance at the home.

The release states that detectives are prepared to arrest Rush for the murder.

Homicide detectives are asking for Rush to turn himself into police. According to the release, detectives "...caution those that have provided comfort or aid to Rush after knowledge that he is connected to this murder are subjecting themselves to arrest."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of William Rush are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-2477, Tulsa Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8677 or email homicide@cidtyoftulsa.org
