OSU Hoops Embraces The High Expectations

Posted: Updated:

The Big 12 Basketball Media Day took place this morning in Kansas City, MO. and Travis Ford's Cowboys were the talk of the town.  14th-ranked Oklahoma State has the conference preseason player of the year in Marcus Smart.

And they are picked by many to remove Kansas' strangle hold on the league championship.  OSU has a lot of high expectations this season. Expectations they are embracing.

"We've embraced it in the fact that we think we have a pretty good basketball team." said OSU head basketball coach Travis Ford, "But we've got to be humble enough to understand that expectations haven't won anything for anybody.  We've got to be humble enough to handle it and be hungry enough to get better each and everyday."

The Cowboys begin exhibition play this Sunday against Campbellsville, KY at Gallagher-Iba Arena at 2:00pm.  They start the season on Friday, November the 8th against Mississippi Valley State in Stillwater.
