The man suspected in the midtown Target carjacking was arrested for a separate incident, Wednesday afternoon.

Brian Patterson, 35, was in police custody for a separate carjacking incident when detectives determined he was the suspect in the Target carjacking on Tuesday, according to police.

The Tuesday carjacking incident left a 76-year-old man injured and without a car.

The elderly man, fighting for his car keys, but eventually succumbing to the brutality. His attacker stealing his car, but not before allegedly being caught on the store's surveillance cameras.

The stolen car, found at a nearby apartment complex. The suspect nowhere in sight, but police catch another break with more surveillance video. This time from the apartments.

Patterson is being held for eluding police, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and other complaints. His bond is set at $24,100.

His alleged victim, who asked not to be identified, spoke to Channel 8's Ethan Calloway Wednesday as he recovered at his midtown Tulsa home. He said he hopes the man who beat him and stole his car can get help and that violence like this will come to an end. "We can't have this forever," he said. "I'll be gone, but my kids and grandkids won't, so, I don't know. I cry a lot, but that don't help."

The man's grandson told KTUL, his family is just glad he is doing well.
