Jenks City Employee Rescued from Lift Station

Posted: Updated:

A Jenks public works employee was rescued from a lift station Thursday morning.

Jenks Fire Department crews were called to the area of 111th and Elm after receiving word that a city employee had fallen about 10 to 15 feet in the lift station.

"From what I understand from the public works department, this was his normal job and the steps were a little slippery, which probably caused his fall," Rescue Captain Michael O'Brian said.

O'Brian told the Jenks Journal that the man had an ankle injury which inhibited him from getting out. Tulsa Fire Deparment was called on scene to assist in the operation.

Paramedics transported him to an area hospital.
