OSU Cowboys Ranked Eighth In Men's AP Poll

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team is ranked No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press poll, released today. It is OSU's highest ranking in the AP poll since the final poll of the 2004-05 season, when the Pokes were ranked sixth. It is the highest preseason ranking since the beginning of that season when Oklahoma State was No. 7.

During the 2004-05 season, OSU was ranked in the top 10 of every poll that season. The Cowboys moved as high as third for back-to-back weeks in late December. Oklahoma State was ranked in the final eight AP polls last season, reaching as high as No. 13 on March 4.

The Cowboys host Emporia State in the final exhibition game of the season on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The regular season starts a week later as OSU hosts Mississippi Valley State on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 pm as well.
