Marcus Smart: AP First Team All-American

Oklahoma State star point guard Marcus Smart is named a first team All-American Monday by the Associated Press. He was the only unanimous selection.

The other first team All-Americans include Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins, Louisville's Russ Smith, Doug McDermott of Creighton and Mitch McGray from Michigan.
 

Smart was the Big 12 Player of the Year last season and averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.0 steals last year.

Oklahoma State has never had a post-season AP All-America first-team member, which began in 1947-48.  Here is a look the postseason AP All-Americans from Oklahoma State:

Smart and the Cowboys open the season this Friday against Mississippi Valley State at 7 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
