A Jenks teacher was taken into custody last weekend for reportedly leaving her kids alone at home and going to a bar.
Tulsa Police placed Tori Denise Jackson under arrest back on Dec. 7. She was booked on two counts of child endangerment and neglect.
A booking report states that Jackson allegedly left her two children unattended while she went to a downtown Tulsa bar. She was later found passed out in the bathroom of the bar and was taken to a friend's residence.
According to a report from the Jenks Journal, Jackson's employment was discussed during a Jenks school board meeting. With the exception of one member, the board voted unanimously to approve a dismissal hearing next month.
"Based on the information I have been provided, I have determined the teacher's dismissal should be immediately initiated," Jenks Superintendent Stacy Butterfield said. "The district's legal counsel has advised me that the board can consider to take action under new business to initiate this dismissal."
Jackson teaches 3rd grade at Jenks East Elementary. She is scheduled for a court hearing Dec. 13.
