Pryor Man Booked for Making Alleged Threats Against Porter City Council

A Pryor man was taken into custody this week for reported threats against the Porter City Council.

Officials with the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office stated Jarrett Stallings was arrested and booked for making the threats after Porter city officials made the decision to relieve Darryl Jay as the Porter Police Department's Chief.

According to a statement from the WCSO, the alleged threats appeared on an "unofficial" Porter city Facebook page, containing vandalism and the burning of council member's homes.

A report from the Coweta American stated that the decision to remove the police chief happened last week during a city council meeting. One of the city leaders stated that the motion to terminate Jay "due to evidence reviewed" and allow the WCSO to assume the law enforcement in Porter received a 5-0 vote.

Stallings grew up in Porter was taken into custody at his residence in Pryor. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the District Attorney's office and the WCSO was assisted by the Pryor Police Department.

Stallings has been booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond. Other arrests are expected.
