Chihuahua and Chickens Rescued from House Fire

Fire crews rescued a Chihuahua and two chickens Wednesday afternoon from a minor house fire.

Crews were dispatched to the residence in the 10000 block of Okmulgee Ave. after receiving word of a fire. People in the area reported seeing the smoke from the Turner Turnpike.

At the scene Sapulpa Fire Department battled the blazed in a corner of the home where it originated. The material the house was built from provided some difficulties during the fire attack.

No information was available at this time on what caused the fire. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Firefighters rescued one Chihuahua and two chickens that were discovered on the property. The homeowner has been contacted.
