Snowball Express Helps Military Families Heal From Loss of Heroes

Posted: Updated:

The holidays can be a sad time for families dealing with grief. But now children of fallen heroes are getting a chance to make new memories.

Snowball Express offers a holiday trip for grieving families, and they have since 2006.

Five Tulsa families were part of the Tulsa festivities. They will join hundreds of others in Dallas, Texas for a few days of holiday cheer.

But first the families were treated to a visit from Santa, and a magic show.

The one thing they all have in common is they've lost a military hero, in recent years. Kimberly and Chloe Walker lost a husband and a father in 2009. They know the holidays are a hard time, but they say this event allows them to see how others appreciate their loved one's sacrifice.

They flew first class to Dallas and they'll have a weekend of movies, sporting events and dinners, to help them heal.
