An interim city manager has been appointed this week in Sand Springs.
City leaders announced that Derek Campbell was given the position Monday evening during a meeting. He currently serves as the city engineer for Sand Springs.
According to a report from the Sand Springs Leader, Campbell will be responsible for the "day-to-day operation of the city." He replaces Rocky Rogers who resigned earlier this month.
Mayor Mike Burdge said Campbell will serve in the interim position until a permanent city manager is chosen. Burdge said no time frame has been set for that search.
More information about the new interim city manager is available at the Sand Springs Leader's website.
