Humane Society organizers are asking the public to help donate items during the holiday season.
Area residents interested in helping out the Tulsa Humane Society can do so in three different ways. One of those being their annual "Collars for Christmas" campaign.
Evan Fadem told KTUL that those interested in helping out can pick up a bag from the shelter, take it to their favorite animal store and load up items the shelter will need. Collars, animal treats and blankets are the most needed.
"We see over a thousand animals a year," Fadem said. "Everyone that comes into the facility gets a collar and a nametag."
Other options include checking out the organization's wish list on Amazon or making a donation in a person's name for an animal to be spayed or neutered. The donation costs $45.
Those wanting more information can contact the shelter at (918) 495-3647.
