Army officials have identified an Oklahoma soldier killed in a helicopter crash this week in southern Afghanistan.
A statement was provided confirming the death of Heavener resident Randy Billings.
He died when an Army Black Hawk UH-60 went down Tuesday during a mission. Four other soldiers were killed in the helicopter crash.
According to a report from the Associated Press, Billings was a chief warrant officer in the Army. He was stationed out of Fort Riley, Kan.
Officials identified the other soldiers killed as:
- Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joshua Silverman of Scottsdale, Ariz.
- Sgt. Peter Bohler of Willow Spring, N.C.
- Sgt. 1st Class Omar Forde of Marietta, Ga.
- Spc. Terry Gordon of Shubuta, Miss.A sixth soldier, based in Vilseck, Germany, was identified as Staff Sgt. Jesse Williams of Elkhart, Ind.
