Latest Forecast: How Much Ice Will We Get?

Posted: Updated:
Tulsa -

An ice storm warning remains in effect for northeastern Oklahoma through 6 p.m.

By early morning, ice accumulations were already around .25 to .3 of an inch in the Tulsa metro.

The precipitation will taper off in the mid morning. Total ice accumulations are expected of .4 to .5 of an inch.

Isolated power outages have been reported, but more could occur as ice accumulates on power lines and trees.

Ground temperatures remain warm, keeping ice from accumulating too much on roads and highways. Bridges, overpasses and sidewalks can still be treacherous. Travel is not advised.

A second wave of rain, freezing rain and possibly snow will move in this evening. The best chance for accumulating snow is to the north and northwest of Tulsa.
