16-Year-Old Killed in Car Accident; Freezing Rain a Factor

A 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital after losing control of his vehicle Saturday morning due to icy, wet roads.

According to a media release, the driver of a Ford truck was pronounced dead at St. Francis after he was ejected from his vehicle on US Highway 64.

The release states that the teen was traveling westbound on highway 64 when he lost control of the vehicle due to wet and icy roads. The truck left the roadway and rolled down an embankment after striking the guardrail. The teenager was ejected from the vehicle.

The report states that seatbelts were not in use by the driver. There were no passengers or other vehicles involved in the accident.
