Formal charges were filed against a Skiatook man accused of destroying a fire truck in Avant.

Prosecutors filed the charges against Harvey Eastwood last week at the Osage County Courthouse. Among them were larceny of an automobile and third degree arson.

Court records indicate that Eastwood appeared via video for his arraignment on Dec. 17. He entered a not guilty plea before the judge.

Eastwood was taken into custody by the Osage County Sheriff's Office after news broke that the Avant Fire Department's fire truck was stolen and set on fire. Deputies collected evidence that led them back to Eastwood as the suspect.

Deputies stated that he also was arrested for a reported burglary that occurred on Dec. 4 at the House of Prayer Church in Avant.

Eastwood is due back in court later this week.
