Two new schools buses have been added to the Shidler Public Schools fleet.
Both were a donation from TradeWind Energy after officials attended a school board meeting to share detail of a planned wind farm in Osage County.
According to a report from the Associated Press, one of the employees heard about the school district's aging bus fleet and the costs they face maintaining the current vehicles. And it was then that the company made the decision to purchase two new buses.
A spokesperson for the company stated that TradeWind Energy would pay for all costs associated with the lease for the next three years.
Kansas-based TradeWind is in the process of developing a 136-megawatt wind project in central Osage County, near Burbank.
