Sooners Have Final Practice of 2013

Posted: Updated:
Bob Stoops and the 11th ranked Oklahoma football team arrived in New Orleans last Friday and began preparation for their Sugar Bowl match up with 3rd ranked Alabama.

Five days later they held their final practice before the big game and their last in 2013.

The Sooners worked out for about two and a-half hours inside the New Orleans Saints indoor facility.

There were a couple of interesting celebrity sightings at OUs practice.  Former Sooner great and Tampa Bay defensive lineman Gerald McCoy was on hand and looking very sharp.

Also Alabama quarterback and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist A.J. McCarron was on hand.  Okay, not the real A.J. McCarron, but the guy entrusted to give the Oklahoma defense a good look.  OU Freshman quarterback Cody Thomas, normally #14, has been wearing #10 all week.  His teammates say he's done a great job on the scout team playing A.J. McCarron.

The Sooners will have a walk through inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Wednesday.  Then they'll face the Crimson Tide on Thursday in the Sugar Bowl.  Kickoff is set for 7:30pm.
