A total of 13 drivers were taken into custody by Oklahoma troopers during their New Year's Eve DUI crackdown.
Area law enforcement including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the ABLE Commission joined together during the crackdown. It began Tuesday evening and went into the overnight hours.
"I am extremely proud of the hard work put forth by all the law enforcement
personnel involved," OHP Cpt. George Brown stated. "We believe we can use this project as a life-saving model for DUI prevention and enforcement efforts nationwide."
Brown added that there were no traffic collisions during their crackdown. Last night was the third year since the event's inception.
Other individuals were arrested for possession of drugs and one felony arrest for selling liquor to a minor.
