A man was arrested this morning wanted in connection with a fatal hit and run accident that happened earlier in the week.

Tulsa Police placed William Bauders under arrest early Friday morning and booked him on second degree murder. He is currently being held at the Tulsa County Jail on more than $500,000 bond.

"Ultimately, he [Bauders] admitted to being the driver of that vehicle, and that he was fleeing because he had attempted to steal a trailer," said Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley.

The accident killed Christina Bradshaw, 46. She was a healthcare and hospice worker. Her family told Channel 8 they are glad Bauders is prepared to accept the consequences of his actions.

"We know that justice will be served for my sister's sake," said Angela King.

King said her sister had a great smile and routinely told her family how much she loved them. Other family members mentioned how she often visited patients long after they left her care.

Police said witnesses saw Bauders attempt to steal a trailer. He reportedly ran a stop sign and crashed into Bradshaw's car. The driver ran away on foot.

Police said the truck was registered as stolen and the tags did not match it. Investigators got in touch with the tags' owner. According to the police report, she said her son had suggested she report them stolen because they might have been used in "something." Police said her son was likely an acquaintance of Bauders. After that, police said some contacts cooperated with the investigation, which led to the arrest.

Channel 8 stopped by Bauders' home Friday for comment but no one answered the door. A neighbor said Bauders seemed respectful and generally kept to himself.

Bauders also was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

Bradshaw's family said her funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Haven.
