Muskogee Hires New City Manager

Howard W. Brown, Jr., who is currently the director of planning and community development in the City of Opalocka, Florida, has been hired as Muskogee City Manager.

According to a report, the Muskogee City Council selected Brown based on his past experience to help move Muskogee forward financially.

Brown had served for three and a half years with the City of Opalocka and will start his position in Muskogee Jan. 27.

Prior to his stint as City Manager in Opalocka, Brown served as acting assistant city manager for the City of Opalocka; as director of planning and development services for the City of Albany, Georgia; department head of the neighborhood improvement manager and buildings for LilburnGeorgiaia; and chief for the enforcement division for the City of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

Roy Tucker, City Attorney, has served as Muskogee's interim City Manager since Greg Buckley resigned.
