98 Allegiant Airline passengers thought they were boarding a flight to Springfield, but ended up landing in Tulsa Friday morning.
According to one passenger, Amelia Haight, when the flight landed it was announced that they had arrived in Springfield. Passengers soon learned that they had touched down on Tulsa.
A representative with Allegiant Airlines told KTUL that the flight had been diverted from Missouri due to weather. Both the pilot and the flight attendants made announcements of landing, so the airline is still looking into the miscommunication.
The representative stated that the stranded passengers boarded buses that left at 2 p.m. today for Springfield.
Haight and a few others ended up renting a car, but told KTUL that no one with the airline had called her as of 2:30 p.m. to give her any updates on what was going on.
All passengers will receive a refund and a $100 voucher for future travel plans.
