Tulsa Insurance Agent Accused of Defrauding Elderly Couple

Posted: Updated:
A Tulsa insurance agent surrendered to Muskogee County authorities for defrauding an elderly Muskogee couple.

According to a release from the Oklahoma Insurance Department, Presley Keith Dennis is accused of defrauding an elderly Muskogee couple out of nearly $300,000.

An 80-year-old man and his 68-year-old wife told investigators with the Anti-Fraud Unit that Dennis convinced them to withdraw the money from their annuities and invest in his company. Dennis then convinced the couple to create a joint checking account with him so he could access money to make investments.

However, the money allegedly went to pay off past due child support, country club memberships and restaurants.

Dennis is charged with one count of exploitation of the elderly. The OID also stated that Dennis' insurance license is currently expired.
