Man Dies after Striking Tree with Vehicle

A man was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital at 5:55 p.m. today after a one-car collision two miles east of state highway 82 in Cherokee County.

According to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle departed Horseshoe Bend Road for an unknown reason, struck a tree and came to rest in a ditch.

The accident originally left the 52-year-old white male in critical condition today at 12:41 p.m.

The victim, Kelly Treat of Park Hill, was originally taken by Life Flight to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition with trunk, arm and leg injuries.
