Long-time Tulsa Philanthropist and Businessman Henry Zarrow Passes Away

Henry Zarrow, who in 2012 had the Henry Zarrow Center for Art and Education in the Brady District named after him, has passed away at 97.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is survived by his two children, Stuart Zarrow and Judy Kishner, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Zarrow served on the Board of Saint Francis Hospital for over 45 years as well as on the Board of Trustees for the University of Tulsa, Salvation Army, the Child Abuse Network and the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, among many others.

Another building named after Zarrow is the Henry Zarrow Regional Library, located at 2224 West 51st Street in Tulsa.

Zarrow was a man of many accomplishments.

He was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 1986, named American Man of the year" by The American Diabetes Association in 1991, given the William Booth Award (highest award given) by The Salvation Army in 1993 and Ageless Hero Award for Community Service by the Department of Education in 1998.

The Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel is handling his funeral arrangements.
