Tulsa County Holds First Public Hearing for Macy's Plant

One of two planned public hearings took place Tuesday morning for a proposed Tax Incentive Finance District that would accommodate a new Macy's distribution center.

Tulsa County leaders held the meeting at 8:30 a.m. over at the courthouse administrative building. Residents were welcomed to attend in order to learn more about the proposed project.

Governor Mary Fallin, Mayor Dewey Bartlett were among those present when new of the planned distribution center was announced. Construction of the 1.3 million-square-foot building is scheduled to begin this spring and operations are expected to start in April 2015.

Another public hearing will be held Feb. 3. After Tulsa leaders will decide whether to form the TIF district.
