Three men are behind bars in Muskogee County Friday afternoon a string of armed robberies.
Muskogee Police arrested Javon Perry, Stephon Alexander and Matthew Triplett on first degree robbery complaints. Each were identified after the robberies took place at various locations beginning on Jan. 15.
According to a statement from MPD, all three were discovered to have been suspects after Perry reportedly robbed a taxi driver after being driven to the Whispering Pines apartments. Detectives were able to determine he was a suspect through video surveillance.
After further investigation officials with the MPD and the Violent Crime Task Force determined that Perry was helped by Alexander and Triplett in the robberies. A sting operation at another convenience store was set up to catch the two other suspects.
Officers were able to arrest Alexander and Triplett after revealing their identities and a brief pursuit that ended up in both suspects crashing their vehicle into a tree.
All three are now being held at the Muskogee County Jail.
