Funeral services were held in downtown Tulsa Monday morning for former City Councilor Roscoe Turner.
Friends and family of Turner gathered at 11 a.m. over at the First Baptist Church. It's located on 4th and Cincinnati.
Turner passed away last week from a heart attack. He was 81-years-old.
"Former Tulsa City Councilor Roscoe Turner was very passionate about representing his community and was certainly not a quitter," Mayor Dewey Bartlett stated last week. "Winning his council seat many times, the former councilor was straight forward and vocal about his opinions and his love of his community and city was very obvious."
Turner was an activist at City Hall and continued to help and give back to the citizens of Tulsa.
