Humane Society of Tulsa to Fix Pets in February

Posted: Updated:

During the month of February, the Humane Society of Tulsa has committed to doing 500 spay and neuter surgeries to get pets fixed.

There are events going on all month long starting on Feb. 4 with "Bucks for Balls" where the Humane Society will pay you to neuter your male cat.

The Humane Society will also be at the Whole Foods at 91st and Yale of Feb. 6 and at Miranda Lambert's store, The Pink Pistol in Tishomingo, on Feb.14 and 15 for a two-day extravaganza involving 50 spay and neuter surgeries.

They will also be at the Hard Rock Casino on Feb. 19 and the Day Center for the Homeless on Feb. 25 for surgeries.

"Spaying and neutering is the root of rescue," said Evan Fadem, manager of the Humane Society of Tulsa.

"It keeps animals from having unwanted litters," Fadem said. "Then you don't have the problem of homeless pets in shelters."
