Driver Taken to Hospital After Crashing into Tanker Truck

Posted: Updated:

A reported drunk driver was taken to an area hospital Wednesday morning after crashing her vehicle into a tanker truck.

KTUL learned that police were sent to scene around 1 a.m. near 21st and 33rd West Avenue. This was after receiving reports that a vehicle crashed into a semi.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers stated that the accident happened after the truck made a turn onto the road and the woman crashed into it. Crews had to use special equipment to remove the car from below the truck.

Paramedics transferred her to a hospital with neck injuries. But she is expected to recover.

Authorities added that they smelled alcohol on the woman's breath when she was removed. She has not been cited for the accident at this time.
