MOL Donates Transportation to Manila for Typhoon Haiyan Victim Aid
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Children's Hunger Fund has partnered with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines to send a sea container of food to disaster struck areas of central Philippines. The cargo shipment of over 42,000 pounds of food has received free ocean transport from Long Beach to Manila by MOL.
"We are so very thankful to MOL for providing this transportation of protein rich meals to the families still trying to rebuild throughout the Philippines," says Dave Phillips, Founder and President of Children's Hunger Fund. "It's generosity like this which enables us to put our resources toward food and the families, knowing that the shipment will get there."
MOL is a premier shipping company with offices around the world and previously has donated to the Typhoon Haiyan relief work in the Philippines.
MOL said in a statement, "We express our heartfelt sympathy to those afflicted by the typhoon and we hope they will be able to return to normal life as soon as possible. The MOL Group pledges a range of ongoing measures to support relief efforts."
From Manila, the food resources will travel to Cebu City and then be distributed to families though CHF's network of local churches. This will bring hope to families struggling to recover and rebuild from the typhoon late last year.
Children's Hunger Fund has committed itself to gospel-centered mercy ministry for over twenty years. In all, CHF has distributed more than 1 billion dollars in food and other resources, serving the needs of more than 20 million children throughout the U.S. and in seventy-two countries worldwide.
