Global Manufacturing Products Provider to Use File Analytic Platform to Migrate to SharePoint 2013

RESTON, Va., Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Governance (IG) software company Active Navigation today announced that LORD Corp. has selected the firm to analyze, filter and transform unstructured information used by its employees around the world into the latest generation of Microsoft SharePoint software.  The goal of the project is to improve operations with a collaborative data environment that empowers and informs employees with millions of clean e-files that are up to date and easy to navigate. In the process, Active Navigation will also significantly reduce the data storage footprint and costs by eliminating files that are Redundant, Obsolete or Trivial (ROT™).

Active Navigation's proven and proprietary technology will help LORD quickly and efficiently audit millions of records to determine what should be saved and how it should be categorized, and also to evaluate what should be deleted or triaged to free up terabytes of storage.  When completed, authorized LORD personnel will be able to instantaneously access program and employee expertise files anywhere in the world, securely.  When combined with an internal and external social media environment, this enables a dynamic, interactive multi-portal sharing of information that will help LORD's operations to be smarter and thereby more productive.

"For almost a century LORD Corporation has provided the global aerospace, defense, automotive and industrial markets with advanced products and solutions that enable innovations that surpass existing limits," said Edwin J. Koval, Director, Business and Information Technology, LORD Corporation. "We do so by actively collaborating with our customers and co-workers globally.  In doing so, we have amassed a vast amount of information that we continually leverage for our next breakthrough.  Active Navigation will now help us manage that information so that we maximize the benefits of what we already know."

"More and more in the digital age, businesses are gaining the ability to quickly translate stored knowledge into a bottom-line improving resource," said Peter Baumann, CEO, Active Navigation.  "By filtering, organizing and sharing its vast amount of information, LORD can experience faster production cycles from opportunity to development to sales."
