December Traffic Fatalities Drop in 2013

The number of Oklahoma traffic fatalities in December 2013 was cut in half in comparison to December 2012.

There were 66 reported fatalities in December 2012 and 33 in December 2013.

Of the reported fatality crashes, two were alcohol-related. There were 23 male victims and nine female victims.

Eight of the fatality victims were under the age of 20 and there were six traffic fatalities from the 41-50 age division.

Tulsa County led the state with 8 fatalities.

13 of the 33 deaths occurred on U.S. Highways.

The DPS reported that 65 percent of those who died in traffic collisions were not wearing a seat belt.
