Woman Booked for Alleged Child Abuse

Posted: Updated:

On Jan. 31, a 15-year-old went to school with injuries which were so severe that he was bleeding through his clothes.

His wounds, described as "horrific" in the police report, alarmed fellow students, who notified school personnel.

According to the Tulsa Police Department police report, the victim was struck with an extension cord by his mother, and has since been taken into protective custody.

Today, upon medical examination, it was determined that the victim's injuries had led to multiple layers of scarring.

Doctors believed it a case to be one of severe chronic abuse, indicating at least three instances of child abuse, according to the police report.

The latest abuse left open flesh wounds on the child's back and hip.

The alleged suspect, Shanetta Williams, was arrested today and had a previous felony conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.

She was booked on three complaints of child abuse and is being held on $300,000 bond.
